This is a hands-on role that directly manages the plant’s shipping team, along with the logistics and freight partners to ensure on-time, accurate, and cost-effective deliveries. They will work directly with the manufacturing team to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve delivery, quality, safety, material utilization, productivity, and turnover objectives. Must be a hands-on manager with experience in a people-intensive operation and with a proven ability to engage, mentor, and develop people. This role will be located in our Lakewood, NJ facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Manage and engage a small shipping team
• Monitor and oversee outgoing shipping activities to make sure that shipments are accurate and not damaged in transport
• Work with plant team to plan and balance resources between departments to meet delivery commitments
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Work with HR team to establish an engaged workforce with low turnover
• Identify and promote best practices in training and development

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school degree or equivalent
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience, including hands-on experience supervising people in a labor-intensive operation
• Proven ability to meet operating pressures/deadlines while maintaining a positive work environment and exemplary customer service
• Strong soft skills and high EQ
• Exposure/knowledge to world-class employee engagement and retention practice
• Team player with very good interpersonal and communication skills
• Bilingual Spanish and English is a plus
