Blinds To Go has created a new position within our Technology Team. We are currently recruiting for a RPG Programmer who is comfortable working on an AS400/ iSeries platform. This individual will be involved in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including: planning, requirement analysis, coding, unit testing and issue management. The position will be based in our Paramus, New Jersey office.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Develop and test technical solutions that support our ERP, as well as our in-house designed POS and Payment Processing systems
• Design, develop code, test, debug, maintain, modify and install computer software programs
• Write reusable code for back-end and UI components
• Serves as a liaison between the Retail/ Manufacturing/Finance/eCommerce and the IT department in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
• Understand requirements, implement designs, and provide documentation for specific projects
• Assess requirements and estimate time and resources to build solutions
• Analyze specifications for application enhancements for compatibility with other systems and within operating guidelines
• Analyze dumps, debug problems and apply fix procedures
• Recommend changes in procedures and software development. Provide solutions for improvement
• Take ownership of the projects assigned and create system level documentation

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, preferred
• 5 to 10 years of programming experience
• Knowledge of end-to-end system lifecycle development methodologies
• Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative team using Agile methodology
• Hand-on experience in I-Series, RPG, Node.js, AS400 development
• IBM iSeries Programming with RPGLE, CLLE, Free Format RPG, DB2, SQL, and IBM RDi
• Knowledge of embedded SQL statements in RPGIV or RPGILE
• Strong time management skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritize
• successfully and adapt to quickly changing priorities.
• Experience with Rational Developer for IBM iSeries a plus
• Related retail and/or manufacturing industry experience
