Blinds to Go is looking for a hands-on Plant Maintenance and Safety Manager professional who will be responsible for assisting with the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive range of safety and maintenance programs and policies to meet our goals and legal obligations. This newly created role will provide advice to management and employees and oversee a small department based out of our U.S. manufacturing facility located in Lakewood, New Jersey.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and manage all maintenance activities in the facility by helping to analyze needs and reliability
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to identify any potential issues
  • Mentor, develop and provide guidance to existing team ensuring growth and succession planning
  • Subject matter expert in the implementation of state mandated safety programs such as Hazardous Communication, Fire Prevention, Evacuation Plan and other OSHA safety compliance programs
  • Assist in representing management in matters of health and safety with external agencies and organizations
  • Ensure that all maintenance operations are done in accordance with company policy and OSHA guidelines
  • Investigate accidents thoroughly and effectively, and then respond appropriately as required, including communicating to, training and following up with supervisors and employees
  • Develop and present safety orientation and training to all employees ensuring understanding of potential risks
  • Inventory and monitor maintenance supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering, Environmental Health, or Facilities Management
  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience within a production or manufacturing environment
  • Full understanding of OSHA standards or EH&S (Environment, Health and Safety) protocols
  • Hands-on experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Computer savvy with a high comfortable level and utilization to accomplish tasks
  • Previous usage of a Maintenance Management System (MMS) or Ticketing System, exposure to ZenDesk a plus
  • Ability to work in an agile environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively interact in a team environment with all levels of employees
