POSITION OVERVIEW

Plant Controller is the member of the manufacturing management team most directly responsible for helping the Company to achieve its financial objectives in the manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded and hands-on general manager with a deep understanding of key business drivers. This role will require strong working relationships with the operating managers, in additional to having strong financial management skills to co-lead business results on a daily basis.

Key Requirements

• BS/MBA from accredited university preferably in finance or accounting
  
• Minimum of five to eight years of combined relevant work experience post undergraduate; Ideal background includes;
  • Experience as financial analyst or controller of mid-size manufacturing company
  • Experience as operating manager or in supply chain manager or purchasing manager with a production or assembly manufacturer
• Strong financial analysis and project management skills
• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Hands-on person with interest in further developing general management and leadership skills
• Able to work at both a strategic and operational level
• Entrepreneurial with strong desire to help drive and build a company
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Work with senior management to build a financially conscious manufacturing team
  • Lead a financial planning and budgeting process for plants that surfaces, and develops plans to address, key business needs
  • Develop controls and reports that focus plant management on key metrics that drive financial performance
  • Coach and mentor supervisors and managers to incorporate cost/benefit consideration into day-to-day decision making
• Work with key operating managers to develop and keep good financial controls and discipline within an entrepreneurial business
  • Serve as key negotiator and purchasing manager for non-material purchases
  • Partner with operating managers to establish prudent expense policies and processes
  • Identify opportunities for cost saving
  • Develop and implement capital expenditure ROI tracking system for plant projects

We will invest the necessary time to set the plant controller up for long-term success at BTG. Actual plan will be customized to the individual but will include rotating into numerous roles within our organization to learn the business (retail and manufacturing) and to develop the important internal relationship and trust needed to successfully grow into this leadership role.
